Tein pienen pätkän Maria Tverdostupin Karmen-kaulakorua. (Malli löytyy osoitteesta http://eaglespirituk.homestead.com/KarmenNecklace.html ). Karmen on oikein kaunis malli, mutta aloin nähdä korussa sydämiä, joista roikkuisi pisaroita. Kehittelin sitten tämän mallin. Käytin 9/o tsekkiläisiä siemenhelmiä ja nymo-lankaa kaksinkertaisena. Lanka olisi ihan hyvin voinut olla yksinkertaisenakin. Koru on suhteellisen helppo tehdä, kun on päässyt vauhtiin.
This necklace was inspired by Karmen Necklace by Maria Tverdostup. (you can find pattern in this address http://eaglespirituk.homestead.com/KarmenNecklace.html ). Karmen is very beautiful pattern, but I started to see some hearts with drops. So I developed this necklace. I used size 9/o czech seed beads and nymo thread doubled. Although it does not have to be doubled. This is quite easy to make, once you get hang of it.

Helmirengas riipuksen kera / Bead Ring with Pendant
I have made several these kind of bead rings. This is fun and quick project, and one can use these with pandora-style beads. I should take more (and better) pictures to show you. This particular ring was a bit problematic. Designing of this ring started from idea of pendant attached to ring. And it worked alright. I used Swarovski heart with pendant bail. I attached the bail to the ring base with wire guardian. Pendant does not stay in right place when using this ring, so I think pendant should be heavier and/or ring should be smaller/flatter.The worst problem was running out of those blue-green fire polished beads. I knew I would run out of them, but they looked so right for this project. I had to order from three different bead shops to get right colour, because I did not remember where I bought originals. The beads used in this ring are a bit bigger than in others, so it was quite fiddly to get last beads in place.

Zig-Zag with Pearls
Tavallista sik-sak-pistoa.
I made this necklace for me to use on summer vacation. Earrings belong with necklace, although they don't match. I used this set a lot in summer, but when autumn came, it stayed in my drower. You see, butterflies don't fly when it is cold. Let see if this one wakes up in spring, or will there be new summer jewelry hatching out. I bought the butterfly from Beadaholique and some of other part are from there as well. There was strange square hole in the middle of the butterfly, so I made a flower from copper wire to cover it. All other metal parts are copper also, except earwires wich are gold filled. Beads are mix of semiprecious beads with some blue seed beads as spacers. There are pearls on earrings.

Tähden sisällä on muutama isompi helmi tukena.
This starfish is highly inspired by Diane Fitzgerald's book Shaped Beadwork. There is no pattern for this in the book, but I started playing with different starts and increases. I made star from five different pieces. And I think it could be made six pointed only making six pieces, although it would make star a little bit flatter. I have used Delica beads and Nymo D thread doubled. There is few bigger beads inside the star to give some support.

Farmer's Wife 16 - 20
Here is next set:
16 Calico Puzzle (bottom left): This was easy, but I was very tired and should have been cooking dinner, when I was doing this, so it's not so perfect...
17 Cats & Mice (top right): This was again those 16th of inch things to cut, have to be really careful.
18 Century of Progress (middle): I put this in the middle because this one is queen of this gang. I used paper piecing with freezer paper (Quiltshow episode 707) and love this technique.
19 Checkerboard (bottom right): Difficult cutting again, but I am learning...
20 Churn Dash (top left): Oh, something easy for a change, Churn Dash is one of my favourite blocks!

Farmer's Wife 11 - 15
Here are next five blocks:
11 Broken Dishes (bottom right): This was quite easy. Just a lot of HSTs.
12 Broken Sugar Bowl (middle): I should have used more vibrant yellow, because now it disappears to the background. But no worry, there is so many different blocks in this project, it doesn't matter.
13 Buckwheat (top left): This gave me headache on cutting, because there were 15/16 of inches to measure and my inches-ruler don't have so small fractions.
14 Butterfly at the Crossroads (top right): It was nice to use some pink fabric. This also had problematic cutting.
15 Buzzard's Roost (bottom left): I modified pattern, so I made all triangles with flying geese. This block (and also 13) would look better if set straight, not on point.
