Peyote Tassel Earrings

Light blue beads are 15/0 japanese seed beads and all other beads are delicas. Because of different size beads, the peyote tube is a bit uneven. If I would make another pair, I would use only 15/0 japanese seed beads.

Vaaleansiniset helmet ovat 15/0 japanilaisia siemenhelmiä ja loput delicoja. Koska kaikki helmet eivät olleet samankokoisia, helmiputki on vähän epätasainen. Jos tekisin toiset tällaiset, käyttäisin niihin pelkästään 15/0 japanilaisia siemenhelmiä.

Heart with the seed bead bezel

These hearts are so popular, they are everywhere. I wondered if it would be possible to make some kind of bezel for the heart. I tried and it wasn't easy, believe me! The bezel is made with seed beads and using square stitch. (I found out that I don't like square stitch...) As I stitched it the heart didn't want stay in place. I used bigger beads in sides and smaller beads towards the middle. The tube above heart is peyote stitch.

Halusin kokeilla, miten tällaisen sydämen saisi kehystettyä siemenhelmillä. Aloitin sivusta isommilla siemenhelmillä ja pienensin helmien kokoa kohti keskustaa. Aluksi sydän plopsahteli koko ajan ulos kehyksestä, mutta kun lisäsin kerroksia, alkoi se pikkuhiljaa asettua paikoilleen.

CHRISTMAS NECKLACE

I made this piece for last christmas and well... had a little bit difficulties with it. I used peyote stitch for the ring where the shell donut is hanging as well for the necklace base. The ring came out nice and round, but the base did not. I was supposed to cover the whole cord with peyote tube, but it just didn´t curve at all. The ring is made of Czech seed beads and the base Japanese.(I forced a little curve by adding some seed beads above ring). There must be the way to make curves to tubular peyote, but I couldn´t find the tutorial to that. Could anyone help me?

Tein tämän korun viime jouluksi. Rengas, jossa donitsi roikkuu onnistui ihan hyvin, mutta kaulakorun runko tuotti hankaluuksia. Käytin renkaaseen tsekkiläisiä ja runkoon japanilaisia siemenhelmiä. Tarkoituksena oli peittää tuo ruskea nyöri kokonaan, mutta kun en osannut tehdä peyote-putkesta kaarevaa. Putki pysyi suorana vaikka mitä yritin. Väänsin sen sitten väkisin kaarevaksi, mutta se ei oikein näytä hyvältä. Varmaan jossain on ohje kaarevan putken tekemiseen, mutta en vain sellaista siihen hätään löytänyt. Voisiko joku neuvoa?

Crystal snowflake (p. 48)

When I read through the pattern instructions, I started to see more colours on figure 7 (p.49). I used different shades of pink on bicones and matte dark brown for seed beads. I like the finished necklace and I am going to wear it a lot!

Kun luin ohjeen tähän koruun, ihastuin malliin, mutta halusin siihen lisää värejä. Ohjeessa olleeseen mallipiirrokseen oli helppo suunnitella oma väritys. Kristallihelmissä on useita vaaleanpunaisen sävyjä ja siemenhelmet ovat tummanruskeita ja mattapintaisia. Olen varsin tyytyväinen lopputulokseen, tätä korua tulee varmasti käytettyä paljon!
